Do you need a Lawyer

You are not required to be represented by an attorney and many people successfully settle their own claims with the insurance companies. However, we have found this to be more the exception than the rule . Remember that it is in the best interest of the insurance company to pay as little as they can just as if you were selling something and they were buying it from you.

They want to pay the least and you want to get the highest. Most attorneys’ work on a 33% of collections (40% if it goes to trial) after costs of recovery. Sometimes, in small cases, it does not make sense to have to fight for an extra 1/3 just to get the attorney his money. This is not to offer legal advice; it is just what we have learned over 20 years of providing injury care to people involved in auto related accidents.

Whether you utilize the services of an attorney is your decision. As a condition of being certified as a soft tissue specialist listed on this site, the doctor has had to have treated no less than 200 cases involving soft tissue repair and spinal correction.

Along with this requirement, the specialist has at least three Law Firms in which he/she has worked with on prior soft tissue injury cases. In utilizing a specialist on this site, you can be provided with a minimum of at least three referrals to various law firms for a consultation. Remember, the attorney will be working for you.
You interview him/her just as you would if you were hiring someone for another position. With the information provided by this site, you should be able to ask the right questions and get a feel for who seems to be a good match or not.

Otherwise, we suggest that you just contact your local state bar for a referral service or ask a friend. colleague, or co-worker for a direct referral.
